Job Summary
Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer returns while stocking, picking, documenting, and packing orders per company policy. Load and unload trucks, operate a forklift and other material handling equipment safely, and manage shipping discrepancies or forward paperwork to designated employees. Identify nonstock, special-order, or damaged material, store it properly, and maintain warehouse cleanliness by removing debris. Assist co-workers in servicing customers, inform supervisors of stock depletions or safety issues, and uphold security controls to protect assets. Complete necessary documentation for third-party carrier shipments and successfully finish required safety and compliance training programs.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
- Be at least 21 years old
- Possess a proper and valid driver's license
- Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy
- Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function
- Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Possess outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers
- Know of, be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment
- Be able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center
- Be able to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations
- Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center
