Job Summary
Lead a Material Handling team at PPG's Grand Prairie aerospace site, driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements with Lean methods. Establish priorities, manage staffing and timekeeping, oversee Receiving, Shipping, Warehouse and Storeroom operations, and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting. Apply Lean tools (5S, Kanban, Standard Work, Visual Management, RCA) and support continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizens) to optimize JIT material flow and data-driven performance. Utilize Warehouse Management Systems and ERP (QAD) to ensure data integrity and operational excellence; develop and report warehouse metrics to leadership and lead a culture of ownership and accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
- 3+ years in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations required
- 2+ years in a leadership/supervisory role required
- Lean Certification Yellow Belt is advantageous
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems (QAD)
- Knowledge of inventory control and materials management systems
- DOT, IMDG, and IATA certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Familiarity with Powered Industrial Truck operations (forklift experience)
