Job Summary
Establish warehouse operational procedures for verifying shipments, handling materials, and maintaining current inventory. Implement federal and state safety requirements, conduct training, and coordinate with Customs and freight forwarders to resolve import/export issues. Inspect equipment, prepare repair work orders, and correct problems while conferring with supervisors to align warehouse activities with production, sales, and purchasing. Screen and hire personnel, compile inventory reports, and manage the warehouse budget and purchase orders. Organize storage areas adhering to 5S standards and recommend improvements. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, five years of warehouse supervision experience, and proficiency in MS Office and MRP systems. Base compensation is $60-80k annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field and/or equivalent combination of directly related experience and education
- Relative experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum five years' experience of warehouse/distribution supervision in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively build and maintain a staff necessary to achieve a successful operation
- Possess fundamental skills: time management, project management, communication (written/verbal) and ability to read and understand technical publications and instructions
- Experience with implementing Lean Manufacturing
- Experience with import/export compliance
- Strong computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MRP experience, preferably SAP
