Job Summary
Oversee daily warehouse and shipping operations, including filling customer orders, receiving production goods, and ensuring inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation. Manage people by hiring, training, assigning work, and conducting performance appraisals while enforcing safety regulations and interpreting company policies. Develop departmental work instructions, adjust procedures to meet production schedules, and recommend efficiency improvements using lean enterprise practices. Coordinate activities with other supervisors to serve internal customers and measure department effectiveness. Requires forklift certification and proficiency in Microsoft Office within a manufacturing environment involving lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- 3+ years of warehouse experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Experience with lean methodologies
- Forklift certification
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to make calculations such as freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages
- Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
Desired Qualifications
- APICS/CPIM certification is a plus
