Warehouse Supervisor - Floor Operations

Job Summary
Oversee daily warehouse floor operations including receiving, put-away, order picking, staging, loading, and shipping while coordinating workflow, staffing, and priorities based on inbound and outbound requirements. Monitor labor utilization and equipment availability to resolve bottlenecks, ensure transactional accuracy, and address inventory discrepancies or process gaps. Lead and coach warehouse leads and associates on performance, attendance, and safety compliance, conducting regular floor walks to identify hazards and reinforce adherence to Health and Safety procedures and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Track daily productivity against key operational goals and recommend continuous improvements to reduce errors and delays.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supervising hourly employees in a warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse floor operations, including receiving, picking, staging, loading, shipping, and inventory movement.
- Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, adjust to changing demands, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems, inventory systems, RF scanners, or similar tools.
- Ability to work the assigned shift and support overtime, weekends, holidays, or schedule changes based on business needs.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Lead, Team Lead, Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Familiarity with AS400 or similar warehouse, ERP, or inventory management systems.
- Experience using performance metrics to manage productivity, accuracy, safety, and service levels.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practices related to warehouse operations and material handling equipment.
