Job Summary
Direct and oversee daily warehouse operations, including scheduling personnel for shipping and receiving, supervising specialists and operators, and managing storage buy transactions. Execute preventive maintenance programs for equipment, ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations, and resolve discrepancies in shipping, invoices, and inventory data. Coordinate cross-departmental activities, process activity reports, and manage progressive disciplinary processes to maintain a productive labor climate. Handle general employee inquiries and solve operational problems while ensuring products are properly staged and inventoried. Work extended hours during peak seasons within a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience
- preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment
- Excellent interpersonal, team building, delegating and follow-up skills
- Ability to work with and maintain effective working relationships with other departments in the company
- Effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Competent in performing basic mathematical calculations
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to work in Windows-based systems
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet established deadlines
- Available to work extended hours, especially during peak seasons
- Ability to exert 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel
- Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
