Job Summary
Manage a team of 10-15 warehouse staff by planning daily work, assigning priorities, and addressing performance issues to meet service level commitments. Oversee order picking, restocking, loading, and unloading of cased goods while ensuring safe forklift operation and accurate product movement. Prepare and review operations reports, maintain the Safety-First culture through continuous training, and coordinate with other supervisors to ensure seamless customer experiences. Utilize the Highjump Warehouse Management System to process transactions, conduct inventory cycle counts, and track progress against established work goals.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of recent relevant supervisory experience in a complex warehouse environment
- Distribution/logistics experience including inventory control and cycle counts
- Attention to detail a must
- Strong supervisory, administrative and customer service skills
- Demonstrated leadership qualities; lead by example and set a positive tone and work ethic with staff
- Ability to read, analyze and understand general business and operational procedures and requirements
- Ability to write reports, professional internal correspondence, and SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Good communication skills and must be able to communicate fluently in English
- Comfortable communicating both verbally and in writing with all levels of management and staff
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Intermediate level for both MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to create and edit documents in both applications
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and barcoding applications
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English
Desired Qualifications
- Business degree preferred with equivalent recent work experience
- Wine inventory management a plus
- International inventory management a plus
