Job Summary
Perform full range of duties in the receipt, stow, and issue of material while ensuring items meet MIL-STD 129N requirements. Identify, examine, classify, accept, reject, and dispose of material per DLA regulations, utilizing visual inspections, measuring devices, and basic inspection procedures. Load material on skids, pallets, and stands; operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) with a valid license; and input data into DSS and other automated supply systems. Count, weight, record data, apply tags, and prepare reports on distribution functions. Make preventive maintenance adjustments to equipment and read specifications, drawings, and schematics. Requires a high school diploma, two years of supply or distribution experience, a valid driver's license, and a U.S. Government background check. Works in a shop/warehouse environment involving repetitive motions and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years specific experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, or related areas
- Proficient in the use of Distribution Standard System (DSS) and other automated distribution systems used at site
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite products including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook software
- Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail
- Ability to acquire a license to use Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license
- Must be certified to operate MHE in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
- Operators must be able to safely access, control, and operate the equipment within all physical design and safety limitations defined by the manufacturer
