Job Summary
Receive and process customer orders from the pulling department, verifying accuracy and quality standards before packaging items securely for shipping. Label packages with appropriate shipping information, inspect products for damage or defects, and report any known issues. Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documents while ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. Operate shipping equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, and perform other duties as assigned. This hourly role requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally, and working in a warehouse environment with moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Basic knowledge and ability to use a computer
- Ability to regularly stand
- Ability to regularly walk
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
