Job Summary
Accurately select product orders for delivery and construct pallets while safely handling items weighing up to 165 lbs. Operate electric forklifts and pallet jacks, maintaining equipment condition reports and adhering to all safety and standards operating procedures. Inform management of business-related opportunities or problems encountered during operations. Complete assigned training and other warehouse duties as directed by supervisors. This 55-day probationary position leads to union membership.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- one to two years related warehousing and forklift experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- knowledge of Internet software
- ability to learn and use assigned company equipment
- excellent communication and people skills
- Understanding of product code dating system
- Must have a valid driver's license (implied by NYS Motor vehicle laws reference)
- Must be able to lift 165 pounds
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
- Close vision
- Must be able to operate electric forklifts and pallet jacks
- Must become certified on all power equipment
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
