Job Summary
Select and stage dry, refrigerated, and frozen orders for delivery to member agencies. Inspect food items at each stage to ensure viability and safety, maintaining accurate daily records and receipts. Move and replenish inventory levels while participating in cycle counts and ensuring proper "first-in, first-out" rotation. Operate material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload trucks, assisting drivers in identifying pallets. Maintain a clean and orderly distribution center by following sanitation schedules and safe food handling guidelines. Provide information to agencies and offer constructive feedback to management regarding facility needs. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm, with nights and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/G.E.D.
- One to three years related experience
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience in a warehouse, retail, wholesale, or food service setting
- Demonstrated sensitivity in interest in hunger or related social issues
- Strong commitment to equity and inclusivity
- Proven success in building and maintaining effective, collaborative working partnerships
- Ability to take initiative and work well independently and as a team
- Full adherence to the handbook and all policies and procedures related to compliance
- Proficiency in latest software and technology
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Extremely organized, detail oriented and able to keep accurate records for tracking and reporting
- Problem solving to identify solutions and meet and enhance organizational mission
- Valid food safety certification
- Valid forklift certification
- Ability to lift, carry, and set-up a variety of promotional materials including electronics, materials in boxes, and table top screens (weighing up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, metal carts, etc.
- Ability to maneuver heavy loads (50 to 2,000 pounds) on a pallet jack on and off truck ramp
- Ability to climb ladders and carry up to 70 pounds up and down
- Ability to pack, unpack and put away various materials
- Ability to give regular communications in person, writing, by email and by phone
- Ability to travel independently in the daytime and evening to regional and national destinations
- Ability to load and unload pallets and carts in all outdoors weather conditions
- Ability to access all work sites of the agency
- Ability to work in below 0°F temperatures for short periods of time
- Ability to work irregular or extended hours
- Nights and weekends as needed

- Prolonged standing, walking and bending in addition to sitting in front of a computer
