Job Summary
Operate warehouse equipment and manage inventory by receiving, stowing, picking, packing, and shipping shipments with a focus on safety and quality. Match product descriptions with labels accurately, build pallets to meet customer guidelines, and participate in continuous improvement activities. Uphold safe work practices while safeguarding confidential information and taking on special projects as requested. Work in temperature-controlled environments including dry, cooler, and freezer sections.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, day shifts, and overnight schedules
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry 30-40 pounds repetitively upwards of 1,000 times per day
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry larger items up to 75 pounds less frequently
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb and sit at times in the warehouse
- Must be able to work in a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm
- Must be able to work in Freezer temperatures (-10 degrees)
- Must be able to work in Refrigerator temperature (25-35 degrees)
- Must be able to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Must be able to follow safe warehouse working practices as instructed
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in food distribution or a warehouse environment
- At least one year of experience operating powered warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.
- Strong communication skills with internal customers and management, fostering collaboration
- Ability to efficiently work independently while maintaining a commitment to team success
- Preferred experience using a warehouse management system (WMS) and other systems to track performance
