Warehouse Safety Coordinator

Job Summary

Drive and ensure safety awareness across all distribution center shifts by developing and implementing environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, training, inspections, and audits. Conduct daily safety training sessions for associates and contractors, including powered industrial truck certifications, while inspecting working conditions and safety equipment to maintain OSHA compliance. Coordinate accident investigations, safety review meetings, and committee participation, monitoring daily reports in i-warehouse software and addressing workplace hazards immediately. Lead the DC safety committee on all shifts and suggest operational revisions to improve health and safety expectations. Maintain current safety training records and perform weekly accuracy checks for powered industrial truck certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior Environmental, Health and Safety Experience in distribution center environments
  • Exhibits knowledge of appropriate emergency response protocols
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills
  • Possess solid problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent attendance and willingness to be part of a team - performing whatever duties are necessary
  • MS Office Proficient: Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary
  • Ability to multitask and possess research skills
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure, and be a fast learner
  • Flexibility to work and support DC shift schedules as required
  • Independent worker with ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision or direction
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Experience: Prior safety and warehouse experience required

Desired Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 Hour or 30 Hour Certifications
  • Bachelors / associate degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
