Job Summary
Unload freight, check in merchandise, and process incoming stock. Prepare orders by pulling materials, packing boxes, and shipping to branches or customers. Sort items onto warehouse racks and bins, maintain inventory controls through the computer system, and conduct physical inventory counts. Keep the work environment safe, clean, and organized while operating a forklift and lifting up to 50 lbs. Perform other duties as assigned. Full-time, non-exempt role Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime. Requires HS diploma, computer proficiency, and forklift experience.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient level of computer and data entry skills
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift
- Must be able to follow written instructions
- Must be able to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 30 minutes
- Close vision and the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision
- Ability to lift and/or move (push/pull/carry) objects weighing up to and often exceeding 40 lbs
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move (push/pull/carry) objects exceeding 50 lbs
- Ability to demonstrate full range of motion for bending, pushing/pulling, reaching above/below shoulder level, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing
- Ability to communicate and prioritize workload
- Ability to read, write and speak to effectively communicate with personnel, customers, and suppliers in person, on the phone, and by written communication
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment
- Previous forklift experience
- Previous experience/training in safety, shipping, receiving, warehouse stocking, or product and services
