Warehouse & Relief Backup Driver

Job Summary
Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment to load/unload materials, stock inventory, and maintain accurate records. Safely load, secure, and deliver products to customer sites using company vehicles, performing pre- and post-trip inspections while adhering to DOT regulations. Complete delivery logs, assist with front counter operations, and ensure cleanliness through daily inspections. Serve as a backup driver for local deliveries as needed. Requires a valid driver's license, one year of commercial driving experience, and proficiency in MS Office. Reports to the Manager, Transportation at Williams Distributing Co. and Shoemaker Inc., a leading HVAC and residential product distributor in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years old
- Possesses a valid driver's license in the state of employment
- Has a working knowledge of commercial truck mechanics
- Has a working knowledge of current Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Has a minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the past 3 years
- DMV record cannot reflect an excess of 2 moving violations and/or preventable accidents within the past 3 years
- Valid driving license with excellent driving record
- Must pass DOT standards
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to proficiently use MS Office including Outlook & Excel, Mincron and a scanner
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience
- Minimum 1 year of operating a DOT regulated vehicle
- Current Valid Driver License
- High School diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license Chauffeurs with clean driving record
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse
- Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States
