Job Summary
Accurately select products using voice-directed picking technology or handheld RF scanners while verifying descriptions, quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates. Build stable, organized pallets, wrap, label, and stage completed orders in designated shipping areas, rotating inventory using FIFO practices. Perform quality checks to identify damaged or outdated items before shipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures. Safely lift products up to 100 lbs, meet productivity expectations, and collaborate with supervisors to achieve nightly shipping goals. Conduct pre- and post-shift equipment inspections and report discrepancies or maintenance concerns promptly. Work two nights per week (Sunday and Monday) from 6:30 PM until completion, potentially ending as late as 6:30 AM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or a GED
- 1+ years' experience loading and selecting merchandise in a warehouse
- 1-2 years' experience with electric power equipment
- Basic reading, writing and math skills to properly identify products and mark them for delivery
- Ability to understand the slot-sequencing layout of the warehouse and labels that are placed on selected products
- Ability to work in varying temperatures in order to select product from refrigerated, frozen, and dry picking locations
- Ability to follow instructions to work safely, efficiently, and accurately using company provided equipment
- Ability to lift products weighing between 40-60 lbs
- Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, sit, operate warehouse
- Must be able to use hands to handle and feel objects, perform fine finger movements, reach with hands and arms, and have the ability to see, talk, and hear
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 100 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to work in a cold environment for extended periods with temperatures reaching -10
- Possess normal vision with or without correction and able to distinguish colors
- Possess fluent speech in English, writing and communication skills necessary to effectively carry out job functions
- Two nights per week (Sunday and Monday), beginning at 6:30 PM. Shift ends when work is completed, which may be as late as 6:30 AM.
