Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Operator I role focuses on learning and performing basic shipping/receiving duties for high-voltage EV battery packs and components, under close supervision. Responsibilities include receiving and inspecting shipments, performing safety checks, updating inventory control systems, labeling and documenting hazardous materials per DOT/IATA/OSHA regulations, and supporting inbound/outbound deliveries. The position may operate warehouse equipment, participate in EVBS safety training, and assist with special logistics projects, with emphasis on high-voltage safety and regulatory compliance. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer/data entry skills, strong attention to detail, and effective teamwork; hazardous materials handling knowledge and certification are relevant goals. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment is necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- up to 2 years of warehouse/logistics/operations experience
- Basic computer and data entry skills (inventory systems, scanning tools, Microsoft Office)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard work instructions
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across operations teams
- May obtain Hazardous Materials certification as required
- Familiarity with inventory systems, WMS, or handheld RF scanners (preferred)
- Knowledge of HAZMAT related to EV batteries (preferred)
