Job Summary
Operate production equipment to manage flow of grain, weigh and record grain, take representative samples, monitor storage and grades, prepare rail cars for loading, operate forklifts, perform routine maintenance and housekeeping, and ensure adherence to safety policies. Requires reading and interpreting safety and operating manuals, basic computer skills for data entry, effective communication, physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and willingness to work in an industrial manufacturing environment. Emphasizes teamwork, safety, accuracy in scale tickets, and maintaining storage tanks, bins, and conveyors to support grain receiving, storing, and shipping operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred but not required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Basic knowledge of working with a computer and mechanical skills
- Physical ability to move and lift up to 100 lbs
- Must be able to move freely throughout an operations plant, including walking on elevated platforms, standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling and crawling
- Must be able to wear protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, PPE) and work in a potentially loud environment
