Job Summary

Receive and unload liquid and dry chemical products from trucks, tankers, and railcars, maneuvering transfer hoses and climbing tanks to open hatches. Operate powered and manual forklifts to transport materials, stage products for delivery, and repackage items into proper containers with accurate labeling. Maintain precise inventory records by verifying documents, sampling for quality control, and reporting discrepancies or damage. Ensure warehouse safety by cleaning areas, managing hazardous waste, and performing immediate spill cleanup. Work any assigned 8-12 hour shift, including weekends and overtime, while holding a valid TWIC card for MTSA facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience
  • Possess or able to pass exam to obtain Forklift Operators certification
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions in English
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, PLCs, operational technology equipment, etc.
  • Must be available to work any days of the week, any assigned 8-12 hour shift
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
  • Good safety and attendance record
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Must pass E-verify check
  • Must be capable of attaining a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card for participating MTSA facilities within Brenntag
  • Able to pass company physical and all training requirements
  • Able to perform all functions of loading, unloading, packaging, stacking, palletizing, storage, and movement of material
  • Able to utilize tools and equipment as necessary to perform job tasks
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 95% of day
  • Must be able to operate standing & sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks and drum pickers
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to the top of tanks, tankers and rail cars
  • Frequently exposed to outside weather (from 10% to 75% of the time) sometimes in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry bags, pails, boxes, and pallets varying distances
  • Ability to stage and remove product packaging in complex storage racking within operating areas and warehouses
  • Ability to climb up tanks, tankers and railcars to open/close top hatches and monitor load
  • Ability to maneuver and connect/disconnect transfer hoses
  • Ability to inspect tanks, tankers and railcars before and after loading/unloading operations
  • Ability to verify product against receiving/shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages
  • Ability to perform product sampling and quality control in conjunction with lab personnel
  • Ability to maintain accurate receiving/shipping logs
  • Ability to pick and stage product for delivery in accordance with specifications on customer orders or other instructions
  • Ability to operate powered and manual industrial lift trucks (with certification) to transport product in the warehouse
  • Ability to move raw materials to the production area and move finished products to the warehouse
  • Ability to fill cylinders, drums, totes, pails or tankers with product
  • Ability to route product to prescribed storage locations making sure of proper labelling, storing, stacking, or palletizing according to company and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to give special attention to packaging, loading and storing of food grade and USP items
  • Ability to operate electronic scale and process devices
  • Ability to carefully store hazardous waste drums in the prescribed area in full compliance with hazardous waste regulations
  • Ability to examine stored product and report deterioration and damage
  • Ability to rearrange stored materials
  • Ability to assist in counting of physical inventory
  • Ability to ensure warehouse is clean, accessible and safe for all visitors and workers
  • Ability to report and cleanup when spills occur
  • Ability to protect property from theft or damage
  • Ability to mix and blending as required
  • Ability to comply with placarding rules when loading or unloading trucks
  • Ability to observe, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other departments and personnel
  • Ability to participate in ongoing safety program including safety meetings and trainings

Desired Qualifications

  • Candidates with prior experience in working with chemical operations (2+ years) may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met
