Job Summary
Receive and unload liquid and dry chemical products from trucks, tankers, and railcars, maneuvering hoses and climbing tanks to monitor loads. Operate powered and manual forklifts to transport materials, stage products for delivery, and repackage items into proper containers with precise labeling. Maintain accurate inventory logs, verify product against shipping documents, and manage hazardous waste storage in full compliance with regulations. Perform immediate spill cleanup, ensure warehouse safety, and follow all company policies and safety training. This physical role requires standing for long periods and working in varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience
- Possess or able to pass exam to obtain Forklift Operators certification
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions in English
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, PLCs, operational technology equipment, etc.
- Must be available to work any days of the week
- Must be available to work any assigned 8-12 hour shift
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Good safety and attendance record
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must pass E-verify check
- Must be capable of attaining a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card
- Able to pass company physical and all training requirements
- Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, which may include a respirator
- Able to perform all functions of loading, unloading, packaging, stacking, palletizing, storage, and movement of material
- Able to utilize tools and equipment as necessary to perform job tasks
- Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 95% of day
- Must be able to operate standing & sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks and drum pickers
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to the top of tanks, tankers and rail cars
- Frequently exposed to outside weather (from 10% to 75% of the time) sometimes in extreme weather conditions
- Candidates with prior experience in working with chemical operations (2+ years) may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met
