Job Summary
Material Handler role in Morgan City, LA—responsible for loading/unloading, moving, storing, and distributing materials within the warehouse while maintaining accurate inventory records and following safety protocols. Duties include verifying shipments against records, preparing shipping data, selecting appropriate shipping methods, coordinating with team members to resolve discrepancies, and operating material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks). Requires high attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and strong communication. On-site, full-time position with a standard 8-to-5 schedule and potential overtime and on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to handle lifting heavy objects
- Willing to participate in on-call rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent detail orientation and organizational abilities
- Effective communication skills; verbal and written
- Proficient with computers for internal management systems
- Able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
- Capable of working in diverse weather conditions
- Experience with inventory control and shipping/receiving processes
