Job Summary
Manage the School Food Authority warehouse by determining commodity needs, placing orders, and supervising the receipt, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution of goods to schools. Direct the supervision of warehouse employees, oversee deliveries of Federal and locally purchased commodities, and maintain accurate records of all receipts and distributions. Ensure compliance with good health practices and Federal regulations by utilizing reports from the Food Service Supervisor, while providing required operational reports to the State Office and addressing any irregularities. Consult with staff to establish efficient job procedures and report immediately to the Director regarding willful disregard of orders.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with major or minor in business
- Associate Degree in business
- Three (3) years of responsible administrative experience
- Completion of the twelve grade
- Eight (8) years of progressively responsible administrative experience
- Knowledge of the principles of administration and supervision
- Knowledge of Federal laws, rules, regulations governing commodities, supplies and distribution of such
- Knowledge of the operational principles of trucks and related automotive equipment
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to deal effectively with all persons contacted during the course of work
