WAREHOUSE LEAD I - WEEKEND DAY (RSL)

Job Summary
Unloads shipments, transports product to manufacturing, and prepares outbound freight while monitoring receiving and shipping traffic at the Bloomingdale location. Leads shift performance, assigns tasks, and escalates issues to meet daily goals, recommending equipment and staff changes for efficiency. Operates PIT machinery proficiently, reviews employee paperwork, and interprets job orders while coaching staff on safety, quality, and company policies. Develops Standard Operating Procedures and participates in root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with OSHA, food safety, and cGMP guidelines through active monitoring and coaching.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience operating Turret trucks, Dock Stockers, Powered Pallet Jacks, Dock Plates and other raised platform vehicles
- Experience in a warehousing, manufacturing environment, preferably food or pharmaceuticals
- PIT license and PIT trainer certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Oracle
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including off shifts and weekends as needed to support the business
- Ability to access product on floor or low shelves
- Ability to operate a hand truck or forklift with a 24-inch step
- close vision, distance vision, and depth perception
- Ability to go to heights of up to 26 feet when operating PIT
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb. boxes from floor to 36 inches
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. from waist to overhead
- Ability to raise up to 55 lb. box from floor to one side, carry up to 10 feet and return to original position
- Ability to lift up to 38 lbs. from 5 inches to 36 inches and return to 5 inches
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. from waist to waist height with 90 degree turn
- Ability to push and pull with force of up to 42 lbs. at 36 inch height
- Ability to pull down with 70 lbs. of force from 75 inches and pull up with 70 lbs. of force from 9 inches
- Ability to grasp up to 80 lbs. of force
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
- Ability to work in all areas of NOW's manufacturing facilities with direct exposure to ingredients (powders and liquids), mixes (powders and liquids), equipment, and packaging
- Ability to be exposed to all of the FDA designated major food allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish, Tree nuts, Wheat and Soybeans, except for peanuts)
- Ability to work in a moderately loud noise level environment
Desired Qualifications
- Additional post-secondary education
