Job Summary
Maintain a safe work environment by pre-tripping and inspecting each trailer to meet DOT compliance standards. Position trailers on the dock using a yard switcher tractor and switch them during daily sorts, hooking up sets for line hauls. Clearly communicate trailer moves and numbers with operations management. This role involves working closely with the yard team and Operations Management to safely maneuver trailers to and from the dock.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both
- Minimum 1-year driving experience, preferably with trailers or towed machinery
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings and background checks
- Must be at least 18 years old, possess a clean driving record, valid identification and be able to pass a TSA screening
- Must be able to provide a 5-year to 10-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Basic English language proficiency (spoken and written) required for understanding safety and operational instructions in a fast-paced warehouse environment
