Job Summary
Receive, store, load, and move building materials within the warehouse and onto trucks. Operate a forklift to safely handle items, reading customer, shipping, purchase, and bill of lading documents to determine what to move. Physically unload incoming materials from railcars and trucks, then load outgoing deliveries while identifying products against written company documents. Count and perform simple arithmetic to manage orders. Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment and maintain good business relations with customers visiting the site. Work Monday through Friday with potential overtime.
Required Qualifications
- ability to effectively and safely handle a forklift
- ability to read the customer order, shipping order, purchase order, and/or bill of lading to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- ability to count and perform simple arithmetic
- ability to physically move material either by forklift or by hand to unload incoming materials from railcars, trucks; and, to load outgoing deliveries
- ability to identify products and accurately handle items specified on written company documents
- ability to keep warehouse clean and orderly
- ability to maintain good business relations with customers who come to the warehouse to pick up material
