Warehouse Forklift Operator

Job Summary
Operate conventional and doublewide industrial trucks to transport, load, and unload trailers while securing dock plates and bracing loads to prevent transit damage. Identify finished product types and defects, placing damaged items in hold areas and ensuring correct shipment decorations. Inspect loads for shipment, correct minor damage, and post records of completed loading. Unload trailers, position goods without interfering with traffic, and direct tractor-trailer drivers to docks. Service trucks by changing batteries, checking fluids, and using electric trolleys or hand strappers as required. Stretch wrap pallets, re-pile spilled loads, and handle scrap into appropriate bins. Remove loads from auto conveyors, stock items, and generate bills of lading. Notify supervisors of breakdowns, incidents, or malfunctions. Perform duties in upper warehouse areas, maintain clean zones, and follow all safety procedures. Work 12-hour shifts including nights, days, weekends, and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years old
- High School diploma or G.E.D
- 3+ years working on a sit-down forklift experience
- Working in a manufacturing setting
- Must be able to withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer and winter months
- Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time
- Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer months
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, either nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., or days from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekends and overtime as business needs dictate
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D preferred
- Working in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred)
- OSHA/Forklift Trainer Certified
- Beverage Packaging industry experience
- Knowledge of AS400
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping, and precision abilities is highly desirable
