Job Summary
Lead and optimize warehouse and fleet operations. Develop and implement warehouse and fleet strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient operations and optimize inventory management. Lead a team of warehouse and fleet staff, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing team. Oversee receiving, storing, and shipping processes, coordinate with procurement to forecast inventory needs and place purchase orders, and maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and reconciliations. Optimize layout and space utilization; implement safety protocols; manage inventory management systems to track, analyze, and report on levels and trends. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (service, procurement, finance) to ensure seamless coordination, stay updated on industry trends, and recommend improvements to warehouse management processes.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse management, fleet management, or a similar leadership role
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and tools
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory control, logistics, and equipment management
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, or electrical materials and equipment is an asset
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong commitment to safety and ensuring a safe working environment
- Forklift certification and knowledge of safe forklift operation is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred
