Job Summary
Conduct daily delivery and pick-up of parts, organizing customer orders by part number and quantity as directed by picking tickets. Load materials into vehicles, install bracing or padding to prevent shifting, and follow assigned routes for maximum efficiency. Unload products from shipping vehicles, store items in designated warehouse areas, and stock inventory while maintaining cleanliness through sweeping, dusting, and trash removal. Operate industrial forklifts to transport materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas, completing annual operator training. Perform daily vehicle inspections, maintain logs of working hours and service status, and report defects or accidents immediately. Pick up returns and cores, tagging them appropriately before returning to the branch.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Minimum of 1 year of general warehouse experience
- Valid drivers' license with clean driving record
- OSHA approved safety toed shoes
- Ability to lift or carry parts in excess of 60 lbs up to 15% of the time
- Majority of lifting and carrying will involve parts between 5 and 60 lbs
- Inside/Outside Conditions, Varied Temperature Changes, Minimal Chemical Hazards, Vibration, Dust, Vehicle Noise
- Ability to follow instructions to completion
- Ability to solve simple equations; ability to use mathematics to solve problems
- Ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
- Ability to distinguish details at a distance
- Ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals (lights, sounds, pictures)
- Ability to know your location in relation to the environment or to know where other objects are in relation to you
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
- Ability to understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Ability to effectively convey information to others
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift operator certification and 1 year experience operating a forklift highly desired
