Job Summary
Load and unload trucks safely to prevent merchandise damage, delivering furniture to customer homes while unloading and assembling items as required. Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and maintain the delivery truck, ensuring it is fueled, cleaned, and properly reported for any issues. Assist with warehouse tasks including receiving, stocking, staging, and picking up merchandise from other stores, while maintaining a clean environment and completing necessary paperwork. Obtain customer signatures on tickets, account for CODs, and perform duties for absent personnel. Maintain a neat appearance and professional attitude throughout all customer interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in reading and understanding delivery paperwork, merchandise tickets, and safety regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Frequently lift a minimum of 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques
- Must be able to visually inspect merchandise and delivery documents
