Job Summary
Conduct daily deliveries of materials, food, and special packages between schools and other district locations, ensuring all goods are loaded in FIFO order and orders are verified before departure. Operate a van and forklift/pallet jack safely to load, unload, and move products while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and scheduling preventive maintenance. Log transport details, process paperwork, and respond to emergency calls as needed, adhering to traffic laws and established safety procedures. Meet strict time constraints on established routes while carrying out supervisor instructions and correcting unsafe conditions immediately.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Arkansas Driver's License
- Clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, codes, blueprints, schematics and written reference material
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems involving several variables and in standardized situations
- Ability to effectively prioritize related work orders
- The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds
