Job Summary
Safely operate a delivery truck while transporting products, ensuring compliance with speed limits and traffic laws. Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition and promptly report any maintenance issues. Load and unload freight, handling objects up to 50 lbs frequently and greater than 75 lbs occasionally, while ensuring goods are secured properly to prevent shifting and damage. Maintain and clean the delivery truck and related equipment, and handle and process related paperwork including financial transactions. Maintain and update the driver logbook meticulously, recording all deliveries, pickups, and other relevant information. Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations, addressing any concerns promptly and recording product damages with detailed descriptions and photos if necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Valid DOT physical card
- Valid driver's license
- Thorough grasp on DOT rules and regulations regarding driving hours of service
- Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and background check
- No DUI or License suspensions in the last 5 years
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
- Capability of driving for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat
- Ability to read and interpret, in English, job related documents
- Good to excellent communication skills
- Ability to do simple math (add, subtract, divide and multiply)
- Ability to identify products by way of work related documents such as pick lists, work orders, shipping documents
- Ability to maintain focus of tasks at hand with high level of attention to detail
- Fluency in English
- Must be able to obtain a DOT physical card
