Job Summary
Plan hour-by-hour schedules for all inbound and outbound traffic and communicate with carriers to secure updated ETAs. Check drivers in and out to ensure dock doors rotate hourly and manage yard flow for safe driver movement. Monitor major shipments for timely execution, prepare distribution documentation, and facilitate team resolution of storage, transportation, and invoicing issues. Utilize the shipping schedule to maintain a flexible dock schedule and proactively support lean efforts by teaching concepts to others. Ensure policies drive effective receipt, handling, storage, and distribution of product. This 2nd-shift role supports Atkore's global network of manufacturing and distribution facilities, with an immersion program and Kaizen events expected within the first year.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in transportation environment
- 3 – 5 years of experience of distribution coordinator experience
- Knowledge of distribution center management in areas such as bulk and pick pack
- Knowledge of LTL, TL, and containerized shipments
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Detailed oriented
- Customer focused
- Must be based out of Philadelphia, PA
- Must be available for 2nd-shift opportunity
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company
- Six Sigma/Lean experience
- Strong understanding of metrics used to assist management in warehouse environment
