Job Summary
Support day-to-day warehouse and yard operations by assisting with loading/unloading trucks, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring proper equipment handling and returns. Select items from stock, assemble jobs, and prepare shipments according to established procedures while validating contract reservations and pick lists. Safely move materials using forklifts, hand trucks, and other mechanical tools in compliance with operation standards, applying proper loading techniques to prevent damage. Assist with receipt and opening of shipping containers, verify counts against driver loads, and report discrepancies to the supervisor. Ensure equipment is returned per company procedures, maintain accurate inventory records, and uphold cleanliness and organization in all areas. Perform minor repairs, support shop maintenance, conduct inventory counts, and fill in for other positions as needed. Adhere to all safety regulations, report violations promptly, and participate in safety meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Safety oriented
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience
- Willingness to learn
- Proven ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. repeatedly and safely
- Strong mathematical skills to solve problems related to inventory, measurements, and loading calculations
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance with a clean Mahaffey uniform
- Clear spoken English and legible writing skills for effective communication and documentation
- Must pass company drug screen
- Maintain an acceptable attendance record
- Full range of motion and manual dexterity
- Ability to understand, interpret, and provide instructions in written, oral, or scheduled form
- Ability to work well with others and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and team members
- Knowledge of forklift and material handling equipment operation, with appropriate certification (or ability to obtain)
