Job Summary

Load and unload freight using powered industrial forklift trucks or hand pallet jacks. Receive stock by visually comparing numbers against documents, put away inventory using material handling equipment, and physically count and verify stock in picking and reserve locations. Process customer orders by picking stock, visually verifying quantities against picking documents, and pack stock into shipping cartons or assemble inventory into kits. Operate laser etch machines, warehouse management systems, handheld RF scanners, and stretch wrap machines. Work in the Foam Production Room performing production-related tasks and operating equipment in a manufacturing environment. Verify items through an audit process and perform all job functions following documented procedures safely and accurately. This 3rd shift position at Snap-on's Corporate Headquarters in Kenosha, WI, requires availability for training on the 1st shift, mandatory overtime, and forklift certification.

Required Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Basic math aptitude
  • Basic PC skills
  • Effective communication skills (Written and oral as well as the ability to interact with coworkers and other associates)
  • Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions and execute those instructions accurately and timely
  • Ability to frequently crouch, kneel, stand, stoop, and walk
  • Ability to walk up & down stairs/ladders; occasionally balance, climb, crawl or sit
  • Ability to reach and grasp work and repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be dependable
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Willing to adjust schedule per business demands
  • Must be available to train on 1st shift
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift (hours outlined above)
  • Must be willing to become forklift certified and maintain certification
  • Must be available for mandatory overtime as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior warehousing, material handling, shipping/receiving, computer terminal use and/or forklift experience
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement processes and ability to communicate improvement ideas to managers
