Job Summary
Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer returns while stock, document, and pack orders per company policy. Load and unload trucks, operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely, and identify nonstock, special-order, or damaged materials for proper storage. Handle shipping discrepancies, complete third-party carrier documentation, and ensure security controls protect Profit Center assets. Maintain warehouse cleanliness, remove debris, and report stock depletions or safety issues to the supervisor. Assist co-workers in servicing customers and perform all duties in accordance with safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
- Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, order picking, and material handling
- Must be experienced in receiving inbound shipments, verifying quantities, inspecting materials for damage, and accurately documenting receipts
- Must be willing to assist with all warehouse operations as needed
- Shipping and receiving duties are a primary function of this position
- Possess outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Know of, be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment
- Be able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center
- Be able to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Must be willing to assist with all warehouse operations as needed
- Employment is contingent upon pre-employment drug screening
- Successful completion of a criminal background investigation
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred
- Experience in a wholesale distribution, plumbing, HVAC, or industrial warehouse environment is preferred
- Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center
