Job Summary
Receive, fill, and ship products accurately by operating electric pallet jacks, walkie riders, and sit-down forklifts to locate, put away, stack, and move checked-in products daily. Unload trucks, inspect freight for damage, verify quantities against packing lists, and complete necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies. Scan products with RF scanners, print labels, resolve labeling discrepancies, and ensure all required bar code labels and Johnstone stock numbers are correct. Pick items into cartons, stack them to minimize damage, enter data into scan guns, and prepare orders by palletizing, wrapping, and loading trucks. Maintain current accuracy and efficiency standards, participate in inventory cycle counts, and follow all safety rules while wearing protective equipment. Maintain hazardous materials certifications and report any safety or maintenance concerns promptly.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 0 – 1 year of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift certification
- Willingness to obtain forklift certification on the job
- Ability to read, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to work safely in all job tasks
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver large/heavy products or pieces of equipment while working within established safety guidelines
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to attend to details
- Ability to work with others in a team-based environment
- Ability to complete routine paperwork
- Ability to utilize necessary technology to complete tasks, such as RF equipment and ERP software
- English proficiency (written and spoken)
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk on a concrete floor for much of the workday
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to climb or balance
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to lift and carry and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift more weight with mechanical assistance or the assistance of team members
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time (for driving duties)
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must have near vision
- Must have distance vision
- Must have peripheral vision
- Must have color vision
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
