Job Summary
Load, unload, sort, pick, stock, and transport materials throughout the warehouse and yard. Securely package items using shrink wrap or strapping for shipment or customer pickup, verifying product accuracy and condition before staging. Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment to move goods safely, installing protective devices like bracing to prevent damage. Maintain a clean work area while assisting customers or subcontractors by locating materials or fulfilling orders, and drive company vehicles for pickups or deliveries as needed. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for over 60 minutes, and work in an environment with moving machinery and temperature extremes.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes
- Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely
- Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and material handling procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
