Job Summary
Load and unload trailers, label and wrap product shipments, and assist with material handling of textiles, hard goods, and furniture. Sort, prepare material for salvage sales, and grade donations to determine if items are for salvage, recycling, or disposal. Move pallets of material using material handling equipment and operate tipping equipment. Weigh containers and maintain documentation of processed salvage materials while keeping the work environment clean and safe. Follow verbal instructions and company policies, including legal requirements, at all times. This full-time role requires the ability to lift loads over 50 pounds continuously and learn job techniques through short demonstrations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and to work as a team member
- Must have the ability to lift or carry loads weighing over 50 pounds continuously
- Must have knowledge of proper methods of lifting, pushing, and pulling materials
- Must able to able to use a pallet-jack to move containers on to trucks for shipment
- Must be able to learn the techniques of the job from short demonstration up to and including one month
- Be knowledgeable of and follow company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times
- Regular, reliable attendance, as defined in Goodwill's attendance policy
