Job Summary
Receive, store, move, and distribute materials by reading production schedules, customer orders, and work orders to determine items for movement. Convey materials from receiving or production areas to storage or designated zones. Sort and place items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences based on size, type, style, color, or product code. Assemble customer orders from stock, place them on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department. This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and working in non-climate-controlled environments. GEODIS promotes about 10% of its warehouse workers annually and offers a Compassion Fund for teammates facing unexpected catastrophes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
- Minimum 1 to 3 months of related experience
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
- Ability to complete duties with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- Ability to use hands, sit, reach, stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch, talk or hear
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to be exposed to non-climate-controlled environments
