Job Summary
Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup by loading, packing, wrapping, labeling, and shipping items. Pull inventory for shipments and ensure correct materials are loaded onto trucks. Operate and preventively maintain warehouse equipment while navigating the facility to collect customer orders. Record selected merchandise according to standard operating procedures and attach accurate labels to all processed orders. Maintain a clean, safe working environment and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers. Interact professionally with customers and conduct counter sales to general contractors. Use technology to manage logistics processes and follow all applicable safety regulations, including those for driving, material handling, and customer site specifics.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to accurately do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions and complete forms
- Ability to work closely and cordially with other staff associates
- Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds
- Must be able to lift items over 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to stand, kneel/crouch/stoop, use hands and reach for more than 2/3 of time
- Must be able to walk and talk/hear for approximately 1/3 of time
- Must be able to operate and preventively maintain warehouse equipment
- Must be able to follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Must be able to work in accordance with all warehouse safety regulations
- Must be able to follow all applicable safety regulations and processes as associated with driving, vehicle check, material handling and customer site specifics
- Must be able to interact with customers and the public in a professional and positive manner
- Must be able to use technology to help manage the logistics process
- Must be able to navigate equipment through a warehouse to collect customer orders
- Must be able to drive to project sites
- Must be able to work in variable weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of architectural door materials and hardware is a plus
- Experience driving trucks for delivery preferred
