Job Summary
Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup by loading, packing, wrapping, labeling, and shipping items. Pull inventory for shipments, ensure correct materials are loaded onto trucks, and record merchandise according to standard operating procedures. Attach complete labels to all processed orders, maintain a clean and safe environment, and operate or preventively maintain warehouse equipment. Navigate equipment to collect customer orders, load finished product, and drive to project sites while following all safety regulations. Interact with customers and the public professionally, conduct counter sales to general contractors, and use technology to manage logistics. Complete tasks assigned by the Warehouse/Operations Manager and comply with all applicable procedures and rules.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to accurately do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions and complete forms
- Ability to work closely and cordially with other staff associates
- Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds
- Must be able to lift items over 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to stand, kneel/crouch/stoop, use hands and reach for more than 2/3 of time
- Must be able to walk and talk/hear for approximately 1/3 of time
- Must be able to drive to project sites
- Must be able to operate and preventively maintain warehouse equipment
- Must be able to follow all applicable safety regulations and processes as associated with driving, vehicle check, material handling and customer site specifics
- Must be able to interact with customers and the public in a professional and positive manner
- Must be able to counter sales to General Contractors
- Must be able to use technology to help manage the logistics process
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of architectural door materials and hardware is a plus
- Experience driving trucks for delivery preferred
