Job Summary
Pull customer orders for delivery and verify inventory loads against shipping documents. Unload stock from vendors, validate quantities against packing slips, and stock inventory. Service customers at the counter by taking orders, entering them into the system, and increasing sales through cross-selling and promotional items. Solve customer problems quickly and attend product knowledge meetings. Participate in scheduled physical inventory and weekly cycle counts while maintaining clean merchandising areas. Operate a forklift, tow motor, and pallet jack to move product throughout the warehouse. Work full-time Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm at an HVAC manufacturer's representative in Charleston, SC.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents in English
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers (internal and external)
- Ability to effectively present information to management
- Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, customers, co-workers, vendors, etc.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Proficiency in electronic mail, record keeping, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
- Beginner's level of knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license in the state where hired
- Acceptable MVR
- Forklift certification or ability to get certified within first 30 days
- Ability to frequently move about inside the warehouse to load, unload, stock and move materials throughout the warehouse
- Ability to ascend/descend a ladder to stock shelves
- Ability to frequently position self to gather product from shelves that are positioned near ground level and overhead
- Ability to frequently operate a forklift, tow motor, pallet jack, cart and dolly to move product
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for 60 percent of the time while operating their computer and performing office work
- Ability to frequently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer
- Ability to exchange accurate information with customers and employees while interacting
- Ability to regularly push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to frequently push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and/or move up to 100 pounds
