Job Summary
Ward Host responsibilities include serving meals and preparing resident trays in collaboration with care workers, communicating dietary needs to the care team, replenishing servery stock with proper labeling, maintaining hygiene in serveries, ensuring menu accuracy, collecting used items, and upholding infection-control practices. The role requires organizing pantries, supporting food and beverage consistency, keeping records of menus and stock, and maintaining professional conduct and daily communication with residents and the care department. Training and meetings, including mandatory SLP sessions, are part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Food handlers certificate
- 6–12 months of experience in a catering or food-service environment
- Infection-control awareness
- SLP training
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with care staff and other departments
