Job Summary
Prepare walls and surfaces for wallcovering installation by cleaning, patching, sanding, and priming. Measure, cut, and install vinyl, fabric, paper, textured, and specialty wallcoverings while matching patterns and aligning seams. Apply adhesives and specialty materials per manufacturer specifications, then install decorative borders and custom systems. Read blueprints, finish schedules, and work orders; operate hand and power tools safely from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts. Coordinate with painters, drywall finishers, and general contractors to meet project schedules. Inspect completed installations for quality and customer satisfaction while maintaining clean, organized job sites. Follow OSHA regulations and union work practices. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, and pattern match wallcoverings
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including climbing, kneeling, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and complying with all applicable safety regulations
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous wallcovering installation experience
- Apprenticeship or related construction experience
- Knowledge of commercial wallcovering installation techniques and materials
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
