Job Summary
Determines eligibility for federal, state, and local public assistance and related services; conducts interviews and assessments of clients to identify appropriate programs and assistance to aid in achieving self-sufficiency; manages an assigned caseload of clients; requires sound knowledge of public assistance laws, interviewing techniques, counseling skills, data collection and analysis, confidentiality, ethics, and strong organizational ability to plan and execute work with accuracy and timeliness. Must be able to read, interpret, and apply complex policies and regulations, synthesize data into detailed reports, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders. Background investigations include FBI, State Police, CPS checks, and fingerprinting. May require a valid driver’s license and flexible schedule. The position is located in Henrico County, with benefits including health insurance, retirement, and paid holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Four (4) year degree in a relevant human services field of study
- two (2) years of relevant work experience in human services programs
- FBI Criminal History Investigation
- State Police Criminal History Investigation
- Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation
