Job Summary
Serve meals, take orders, and manage table settings for residents at The Bristal Assisted Living, ensuring all food is presented according to the Director of Food Service guidelines. Read menus to assist residents with selections, plate appetizers, salads, soups, beverages, and desserts with proper portion controls, and bus tables at the end of service. This part-time role covers Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday from 7am to 11am, requiring a compassionate spirit, strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a gentle demeanor toward the senior population.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a restaurant or food-service-related industry
- Able to function in a fast-paced environment
- Have a strong ability to multi-task
- Possesses good communication, customer service and people skills
- Is professional, patient and able to satisfy a demanding customer base
- Must always be reliable, caring and gentle in actions and demeanor
- Maintains an abiding respect for the elderly and remains calm at all times
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with a senior population is preferred, but not required
- Is a team player, willing to help out where needed to ensure a pleasurable dining experience
- Familiarity with food safety, food preparation and board of health guidelines is a plus
- Is able to adjust to different personality types and situations in positive ways
