Job Summary
Take orders, provide table service, and maintain a high level of customer service for residents and guests. Abide by established community policies, procedures, and rules regarding food service, attendance, and personal hygiene. Set tables, maintain workstations, and complete assigned side work such as filling condiments and restocking. Communicate menu selections, specials, and requests while ensuring safe and sanitary conditions in all work areas. Perform duties as assigned by the supervisor, including bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic
- Ability to follow oral instructions in English
- Ability to interpret and explain the menu
- Ability to answer or refer questions
- Ability to coordinate the meal service process
- Ability to respond to requests
- Ability to bend and pick up items from the floor
- Ability to reach above head to remove items from shelf
- Ability to work in close cooperation with Members, guests and staff with courtesy, tact, and graciousness
- Fundamental understanding of hospitality
- Fundamental understanding of customer service
- Fundamental understanding of table service technique
- Fundamental understanding of personal hygiene
- Fundamental understanding of professional appearance
- At least 16 years of age
