Job Summary
Waitstaff for a luxury assisted living community responsible for delivering chef-prepared dining experience to residents. Responsibilities include patiently and cheerfully taking resident meal orders, checking station tables for settings and cleanliness, reading the menu to assist residents with selections, assisting in plating and proper portion controls of appetizers, salads, soups, beverages and desserts, and bussing tables at the end of the meal. Ideal candidates have experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant or food-service setting, thrive in a fast-paced environment, can multi-task, and possess strong communication and customer service skills. Experience with a senior population is preferred but not required. Must be reliable, caring, and gentle with residents and maintain a calm demeanor; familiarity with food safety and health guidelines is a plus. Location is Wayne, NJ with full-time, mixed shifts (7a-3p and 11a-7p).
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a restaurant or food-service-related industry
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, customer service and people skills
- Professional, patient and able to satisfy a demanding customer base
- Experience working with a senior population is preferred but not required
- Team player, willing to help out where needed to ensure a pleasurable dining experience
- Familiarity with food safety, food preparation and board of health guidelines is a plus
- Able to adjust to different personality types and situations in positive ways
- Must always be reliable, caring and gentle in actions and demeanor
- Maintains an abiding respect for the elderly and remains calm at all times
