Job Summary
Conduct table service in the Stratford dining room, manage room tray setup for nursing staff, and oversee minor food production and kitchen cleanliness. Deliver orders and requested items courteously while maintaining high customer service standards for members and guests. Adhere to all established policies, procedures, and rules regarding food service, attendance, and personal hygiene. Perform assigned side work including setting tables, restocking, and cleaning workstations to ensure safe, sanitary conditions. Maintain appropriate uniforms and attend in-service training as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic
- Ability to follow oral instructions in English
- Ability to interpret and explain the menu
- Ability to answer or refer questions
- Ability to coordinate the meal service process
- Ability to respond to requests
- Must be able to lift and carry a 50-pound service tray for 50 feet
- Must be able to bend and pick up items from the floor
- Must be able to reach above head to remove items from shelf
- Ability to work in close cooperation with Members, guests and staff with courtesy, tact, and graciousness
- Must possess a fundamental understanding of hospitality
- Must possess a fundamental understanding of customer service
- Must possess a fundamental understanding of table service technique
- Must possess a fundamental understanding of personal hygiene
- Must possess a fundamental understanding of professional appearance
- Must have excellent balance
- Must be able to climb a ladder
- Must be able to walk around a roof
- Must be able to work at heights
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, and peripheral vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must be able to adjust focus
- Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time
- Must be able to communicate verbally with others on the phone or in person
