Job Summary
Wafer Failure Analysis Engineer responsible for identifying failure modes in wafer and backend processes, assessing impact, defining containment actions, and driving root cause analysis with corrective actions. Collaborates with Process Engineering, Development Engineering, Integration, Equipment Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations in a fast-paced HDD wafer-manufacturing environment. Performs statistical analyses to support root-cause identification and applies 8D methodology for structured problem solving to meet supply and quality targets.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven ability to excel in cross-functional team environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strength in problem-solving methodologies
- Knowledge of, or experience with, semiconductor (or related) fabrication processes
- Experience working in a semiconductor or related manufacturing environment
- Coursework in engineering statistics
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies, including 8D and DMAIC
- Experience using AI in an academic setting
